Campala: Barcamp Kampala Aug 29

campala

After the successes of Barcamp Nairobi I’ve decided to help organize a Barcamp in Uganda called Campala scheduled for August 29, 2008. What makes a Barcamp different from a normal conference?

  • Collaborative Organization (instead of a Board)
  • Barcamps are free
  • They offer an open forum for presenting. There are no ‘featured speakers’, the attendees determine the topics and the flow of events.
  • It’s a great place for tech-savvy people to congregate and share knowledge.

If you’re a Ugandan business owner, software developer, programmer, blogger or one who generally loves technology, then this will be the to discuss new technologies, advances in the industry and to find out what others are doing locally. The Ugandan tech community is growing fast and really helping to reshape progress in the country. We could use some support from sponsors though, we still need a projector, a venue (although we do have some in mind), a place for lunch and breakfast and other items (pens, paper, cards, shirts).

If you’d like to help sponsor Campala in Uganda please contact us.

Of course if you’d like to sign-up to attend Campala, click below….
