BarCamp Africa

Right now I’m right in the thick of organizing Barcamp Kampala (codename Campala) but I wanted to take out some time to mention a quiet storm brewing in the west. Barcamp Africa is an event currently being organized in Silicon Valley to “open a conversation on Africa”. Their Twitter feed has several hundred followers already and looks like something of a who’s who in social media.

It’s good to see this kind of support in the valley for Africa! Follow Barcamp Africa on Twitter and visit the Wiki.

Note: Just to avoid confusion, Barcamp Africa (in California) is a separate event and mostly unrelated to Barcamp Kampala (in Uganda). If you’re a jetsetter you can attend both but the few thousand miles between will make it unlikely for the rest of us, lol.
