@Michael Feel free to include comments or thoughts from this blog. As far as Peter's panel goes, I'm surprised the correlation between the two wasn't talked about more. I guess it makes since 'social media' hasn't even really reached the mainstream period, so at conferences like this it's still kind of nich...despite all the people live blogging on Twitter.

@Stacey Appfrica was conceived as one thing but changed completely when I got here and realized the true needs and desires of people. Hopefully your observation is true! Definitely look me up next time you're in the vicinity!

I think I might be the blunt Caucasian woman of whom you speak. Thanks so much for sharing your thoughts on our brief session at SoCap08. I, too, attended both events and learned alot...and I have to say that, of all the entrepreneurs I met, the Appfrica model seems one of the most thoughtful and potentially transformative.

Thanks for your insightful notes on both events - I really hope I have an opportunity to get to Kampala to see what you're up to next time I'm in Tanzania.

Hi - great post!

I am just sorting through the aftermath of SoCap08 and so far, I am wondering if there was a missing thread at the conference.

Yours if the first I have seen with a reference to Peter Kaminski’s ‘Social Media for Social Entrepreneurs’.

Was there an understanding that social capital is the currency that is going to dominate the new media paradigm?

The stability of all future earnings from all corporations are exposed to these dynamics.

I would love to see you review http://socialcapitalvalueadd.com/about-scva.

I am preparing a blog post re: SoCap08 and wonder if I could include a comment from you?

Cheers,
mc
