Geographic Specialist – Nairobi, Kenya – Google.com

Google, the world’s leading search engine, is extending their local team in Nairobi, Kenya. The objective of this local team is to promote local content generation, as well as further the introduction and adoption of several Google Products in the region. As a Geographic Consultant in the East Africa headquarters in Nairobi, you will be part of an exciting landmark project aimed at developing electronic mapping data of several cities across Africa by utilizing Google mapping technology. To be successful in this role, we are seeking individuals with a passion for and thorough understanding of African geography and mapping, a strong sense of direction and scale and familiarity with at least one capital or large city in Africa. In addition, you’d be expected to be willing and able to travel to multiple cities throughout the region, if required, for mapping. Comfort with using and operating GPS technology devices is a plus. Web Administrator – Nairobi, Kenya – Education Development Center (EDC)

EDC’s Sudan Radio Service project has an opening for a position of a Web Administrator, reporting to the EDC ICT Coordinator in Nairobi. Sudan Radio Service (SRS) is a USAID-supported project that delivers accurate, balanced news and information to the people of Sudan—via shortwave broadcasts heard nationally and an FM broadcast heard in Juba, southern Sudan. SRS has a team of nearly 40 journalists/producers based in Sudan and Nairobi, Kenya who report news and develop informational programming based on the journalistic principles of fairness and accuracy. Duties include managing the groups online community and design.
