Social Network Spreads Creative Commons Content in Arab World

jeeran-cc_0 Jeeran, one the largest arabic-language social-networks, announced the launch of a Creative Commons channel. The new channel will start out with content from Al Jazerra Creative Commons, but will allow Jeeran users to add their own CC licensed content as well.

The channel will include information on what CC licensing means, how to licensed work, and successful case studies of CC use in the Arab world. Jeeran also plans on launching several contests for CC-licensed content to encourage  artists to use Creative Commons licenses and to re-mix others’ creative works.
