Will Larson put together this study at Irrational Exuberance that explores the global popularity of programming languages. The languages he chose to look at were: Common Lisp, Erlang, Groovy, Haskell, Java, Objective C, OCaml, Perl, Python, Ruby, Scala, and Scheme. Improving Conditions for Internet in West Africa

Globacom is laying a 9,500 kilometres telecommunications cable at a cost of about $250 million from London to 14 West African countries. The cable is expected to reach Ghana by May 2009 and then extended to Nigeria and other countries in the sub-region.

Nigeria Invests in Fiber Optic Infrastructure

The Nigerian firm Phase3 Telecom has announced it will spend US$200 million on fiber-optic coverage throughout the country.
