Marc Andreessen’s Home Internet Costs vs Uganda’s


Silicon Alley recently reported that Netscape creator turned investor, Marc Andreessen pays around $4,000 a month for his home internet connection…100 mbps to his house. So what would $4,000 get you here in Uganda? 2 to 4 mbps for a corporate line.

More fun facts…A year ago I was paying $1,000 (2 Million Ugandan Shillings) for a dedicated 256kbps connection that I shared with another company. Today the going rate is about half that. And we wait…
